Hi! My name's Kristi Wong, and I'm a queer, non-binary, neurodivergent person of Chinese-Malay descent, currently living as a settler in "New Westminster", on the traditional, unceded, and unsurrendered territories of hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓-speaking peoples on Coast Salish lands. I founded gutpunch daydream studio in 2024 to house my productions as a writer and artist after leaving the tech industry (to hopefully never return - keep me in your prayers lol). Explorations through the studio are translated through metal, textile, fibre, and paper with a focus on slow and intentional handmade craftsmanship. I’m also an editor for SAD Mag and Chthonic Lit, and really enjoy the coaching and craft aspects of working with other writers.
On this blog you’ll find updates from the studio, musings on life, and anything else that catches my fancy. Its primary function is to document my progress and processes, because archiving as validation for others (and myself!!!) is the soapbox I will never step down from. Other soapboxes include ways to stay curious, understanding my own neurodivergence, and trying to translate all of it in the hopes of more compassionate connection. Those are the lofty goals, anyhow.
Regardless of how long you stick around, thanks so much for taking the time to read! It means a lot.
